Dear Religious Education Families,
Our Religious Education is open after a one week winter recess! We are ready to begin our Lenten season with our children, families and as a Parish of Saint John Bosco. Ash Wednesday, February 22nd, marked the beginning of Lent, a forty-day period in preparation for Easter Sunday.
During the next five weeks, our catechists will be teaching our children about, Ash Wednesday, The Liturgical Season of Lent, Holy Week, Easter Sunday, The Ascension, and Pentecost Sunday. I would like to thank them for their hard work in preparing these lessons that incorporate arts and crafts, visits to the church, songs and videos.
Your partnership with the program is important to us, so we have prepared this LENTEN CORNER https://donboscopc.org/lent-1 on our Parish Website where you will find resources that your may share with your children! Also, below is a quick reference list containing additional resaources. We need your help and participation. Thank you for your commitment to your children's faith formaiton!
I would like to share some exciting news! Some of our Religious Education children have been preparing for the Sacrament of First Reconciliation. They will receive the Sacrament of First Reconciliation duirng this Lenten Season. Please keep them in your prayers. In March they will participate in a Retreat lead by Deacon Branden, our Salesian Pre-Novice Nicholas Jandernoa and our volunteer teachers and catechists!
Thank you for your continued support and have a Blessed Lent!
Sincerely,
Irma Austin, Coordinator Religious Education
